Itinerary
Arrival in Delhi
On arrival, our representative will greet you at the IGI International Airport for the Kumbh Mela 2025 Photo Tour. From there you will transfer to the hotel which is near to the airport.
Overnight in the Hotel.
Delhi - Prayagraj (By Flight)
Early in the morning, you will be taken to New Delhi Airport from where you will have a flight to Prayagraj and arrive at the Allahabad Domestic Airport. On arrival, you will have to check in to the hotel.
In the afternoon, your Kumbh Mela tour will begin and we will take you to the Akharas, the traditional places of worship for Naga sadhus and other ascetics. The Akharas are vibrant spiritual centers and the houses of these holy men that will offer a rare glimpse into the life of a saint known for his austere practices and deep spirituality.
You will get a chance to capture those pictures of the Akhada Sadhus with their intense expressions as they meditate in the nurturing surroundings, performing their rituals and preparations for the Shahi Snan, all these things provide you with such a rich memory that will enhance your photography skills. The end of this Kumbh tour will immerse you in these energies and vibrant cultures that will leave you with a strong portfolio of images. After visiting Akhadas, you will stay overnight in the hotel and start a new day.
Akhada Visit & Photography
In the early morning, we can visit the Akhadas once again. There are total of 13 Akhadas in Kumbh Mela and this is the traditional residence of the Akhara monks. Every Akhadas has its own importance, and this morning you will get to know about them in detail. As soon as the sun rises, the Akharas start buzzing with activity and the sadhus, especially the Naga sadhus, start their day with prayers. The atmosphere here is filled with energy and this is the ideal time for you to capture all these things in your camera. Each Akhadas has its own distinct identity and customs. Some focus on ascetic practices while others display their physical prowess. As you visit different Akharas, you will get to see different types of Sadhus and Saints and will also get to know about their history which will make your photography tour memorable.
After this soft and energetic morning, you will have leisure time in the afternoon. If you want to learn more about their clothes or their customs, you can ask them, it will be up to you what you want to do. In the evening you go to your hotel and stay for the night and eat your tempting dinner, your Kumbh photography tour will start again in the next morning.
Akhada Visit & Photography
This morning, you can again visit the Akhadas and learn about them and you will get to know more in this two-day program which will take your photography journey further. In the afternoon you will be free from these leisure activities, later than you can return to the hotel and stay overnight.
Shahi Snan Day Photography
On the 5th day, you can choose any date for the Shahi Snan which is mentioned above in the overview. The Shahi Snan will start in the wee hours of the morning, devotees courageously face the ice-cold water of the Ganges and dip into it and shout loudly “Bom BomBhole” with joy. This act ends up being auspicious because it is on this day the Kumbh Mela takes place. The Shahi Snan (Royal Bath) at Kumbh Mela, where different Akhadas go through before taking a ceremonial dip in the holy river Ganges generates awe-inspiring scenes along its banks. Several Nagas are aimed at being brought together by most of these Akhadas during the bath to demonstrate their mightiness.
At Kumbh Mela, there are always bells ringing and Vedic hymns being chanted while mantras are recited everywhere in the air. Religious sects perform processions on camel-back, elephant-back and even on gold and silver chariots pulled by worshippers themselves.
